Habamus Papam!

Habamus Papam!

On the feast day of Blessed Miriam Teresa Demjanovich and the birthday of Venerable Fulton Sheen, the cardinal-electors chose an American and Chicagoan to be our next Holy Father!

It is understandable that many wonder, even worry, about who Pope Leo XIV is and what he may mean for the Church. But we at American Saints and Causes would like to suggest a different posture before this event: pray. Pray for graces for our new pontiff, that he may be docile to the Holy Spirit and attentive to God's will in how he shepherds the faithful. Pray that he become the saintly and capable pope we all want and no doubt God desires each and every successor of St. Peter to be. For our part, we feel especially responsible to pray for this pope and will strive to say the Litany For The United States or the Rosary of St. Joseph regularly for the well-being of our new Holy Father, his intentions and that God bless him and the Church through him.
